"Momma, you get me buka?"

Zion is developing so quickly, he's learning new words everyday, I knew soon he'd be speaking in complete sentences. I never expected his first sentence to be......"Momma, you get me buka (burger)?" lol...... Here's how it went down. We were out late shopping for his birthday gifts and once we finished up I loaded him in the car and drove across the street and pulled up to the Chick fil A drive through. I placed the order, pulled forward, and stopped behind a car first in line at the window. Once I stopped Zion said, "momm..." I said "huh Zion" he said "you get me buka?" I said, "no baby, mommy didn't get you a burger, I got you some nuggets, nuggets are good!" A few seconds later it was our turn at the window and I pulled forward, paid the man and collected our food. I passed Zion a nugget and a few minutes later that sweet little baby said "momma, newget gooooooooood."

Sweet Baby

Yesterday morning, I had the opporunity to work from home because Jayden was out of school for MLK Holiday. So I was home when the boys woke up. When we all got up. I sat up in the bed and stretched a little, Zion was sitting beside me, my arm was creased where I was laying on the comforter and Zion rubbed it. He said "oooo momma, hut, hut momma, momma hut" (hurt). I said no baby it doesn't hurt. He said "you oh tae mommy" I said, "momma ok baby" he patted the crease and said "ok mommy, ok". I knew he had it in him. What a sweet baby.

"Shut UP!"

Zion is about to be two soon and, oh boy we can tell. He's already started the terrible two stage. Leave it to him to be an over achiever! He's new phrase it "SHUT UP!" and he tells everyone that. He's the thing. I don't know where he's getting it from because I absolutely despise when people tell me to shut up, so we don't say it in our home. And, what's even more peculiar is that he know how and when to use it. He was collecting water in a bucket from our bath tub and Manuel walked in. Manuel said "Zion, turn that water off and put that down." Zion replied "shut up daddy!" LOL....... it was truly priceless! Man I wish I had gotten that on tape.

We call him he boss man

Zion is developing yet another personality, he's becoming quite bossy. I was making dinner the other night and putting cheese in something. He saw it and was apparently ready to eat so he said "momma, some, some, momma". I said "ok Zion, let me get you a plate" he said, "no momma, right ter, right ter" (right there, right there) pointing at the palm of his hand as if to say, put it right there in my hand and would settle for no less. Bossy but!

Why am I the only one I know that have to frequent the ER with my child as much as I do?

People say that between the ages of 7 and 10 boys will give you the most trouble and for girls it's 13 to 17. I believe the whole heartedly. Jayden is 7 and for the last 6 months or so he has challenged almost every word that comes out of our mouth and seems to be determined to find out just how much he can get away with. He is so hard headed! Friday Night, Jayden had friends over to spend the night and they wanted to play with the puppy inside the house, I told them the only way he could come in is if he had bath. They agreed to give Zipper a bath, but needless to say I found myself right in the middle of giving the puppy a bath because they could not handle him. After I got him all dried off, I told Jayden to go to the kitchen and get the new collar I had purchased for him and bring it to me. Much to my dismay, he returned minutes later with a bloody hand. He had taken a kitchen knife and tried to cut the tag off the collar but missed the collar and cut a giant gash in his hand. As many times as he had been threatened within inches of his life if he touched a knife without our permission. What possessed him? After talking to a friend who's a nurse I was advised to take him to the ER. I was having myself a good little pity party, so I called my sister on the way and said "Why am I the only one I know that have to frequent the ER with my child as much as I do?" She really got a kick out of that, but not I. This child is about to put me over the edge. These next couple years are going to be a battle of the wills. I can see.

Smoothies for everyone!

Just recently I've been on a voyage to loose weight. My step dad bought me a "Magic Bullet" blender sort of a thing. I started using lite yogurt, 2% milk, and frozen fruit to make me something that was filling, low calorie, and tasty for breakfast each morning. One day I had over did it at lunch and didn't have very many calories left so I was making a smoothie for dinner. Jayden saw me and asked if he could make himself one, and OMG, I have created a monster. We spend so much money on yogurt it's not even funny. He has to have one for breakfast (which is a good thing. He gets calcium, protein, and fruits the first meal of the day), and has to have one every night as well. I think it's the fact that we let him do it himself that makes it so appealing to him. Hey, whatever it takes to get them eating healthy, right.......

Hey, you can't blame a brotha for tryin!

Yesterday I got a exstatic call from Jayden exclaiming "Mom I got the Honor Roll, I got 4 'A's and 3 'B's!" and as any proud mom would do I got equally excited and began to congratulate him and tell hom how proud I was of him for working so hard on his grades and then I reminded him of all the times he didn't want to do his homework but how great it was the that hard work paid off and assured him he would be rewarded for his effort. Then, true to form, Jayden asked "am I going to get a thousand dollars?" I said, "uh, no" he laughed and said, "hey, you can't blame a brotha for tryin...." we both laughed. Kids say the darnedest things.

Daddy Makes Good Oatmeal

Just the other night, Manuel had gone out with a few friends to a birthday party and the boys and I went to bed around 1a. Jayden apparently didn't go right to sleep because as soon as the door opened he was up asking Manuel if he could get up with him until he went to bed. Of course Manuel said yes and I went back to sleep. The next morning as we were getting ready for the day Jayden sayes "I like the way daddy makes oatmeal, he makes it really good" I said "oh is daddy making you oatmeal before school in the mornings now" Jayden replied "no he made me some last night" ........ (last night? At 2 in the morning?). Jayden continued "he put a little bit of a lot of milk in it and a little bit of a lot of sugar in it and didn't stir it up or anything, I just ate the chuncks of sugar floating on top." I guess that's how you'd make oatmeal of you were half awake...at 2 o'clock in the morning!

"ooooooooo"

Zion is developing so much personality here lately. He's become somewhat of a tattle tale as well. Jayden was painting in the play room and he spilled some water on the floor and Zion screamed "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, Jayden" "Momma Jayden, water on four." It's so fun to see how they develop overnight it seems.

New Sippy Cup

Zion has been so rough on his sippy cuts as of late. He throw them like they are a ball or something so they're all worn down and leak like crazy. I decided to go out and buy him new ones and a girl at work was singing the praises of a cup her little girl uses. I decided to check the cup out and much to my surprise the cup retailed at $6.88! $7 or a cup?????? This darned thing better work magic. If even one drop of liquid comes out of it, I WILL TAKE IT BACK. I kept my receipt and the box it came out of. Low and behold, not a drop escaped the spout! Zion loves it. He will not be separated from it except for a refill. The first night we got it, tucked it under his arm the entire night until he fell asleep. In the middle of the night when he woke up for a cup, I passed him another cup I had purchased that day. Not the same kind, (at $7 I'm not buying more than one!). He put it in his mouth, then raised up and held it in the air as if to see it better and when he noticed it wasn't his new found favorite cup, he through a fit. He cried for 10 minutes until he finally decided to take the cup he was given. That kid!

The Adjutator

Zion has become a adjutator as of late. He will push Jayden or take something and run just as fast as those bowed legs will take him in the opposite direction of the person he's bothering and when they catch up to him and take back their item he lays in the middle of the floor kicking and screaming like he's the victim. When that doesn't get him enough attention he begins to spit until he gets in trouble and is immediately sent to the "Naughty Spot", god love the naught spot. That boy, I don't know what I'm going to do with him.

"My Baby"

Jayden and Zion are getting so close and it's very rewarding to watch. The other day they were both on the floor playing. Jayden got tired and just rested his head on Zion's let. Zion grabbed his head and started to rub his hand across Jayden's head and said "baby, my baby. Momma, bubba's my baby." Just as cute as can be.
